BSA Troop 42

BSA Troop 42 was formed in San Mateo in 1958, and met regularly at the Peninsula Temple Beth El in San Mateo until 2014 when the Troop moved to St. Bart's Catholic Church in San Mateo. The Troop was founded on the basic principles of the Boy Scouts of America with emphasis placed on:

  • Development of outdoor and scout craft skills
  • Character development
  • Mental and physical fitness
  • Patriotism and citizenship training
  • Community service
  • Provide and Encourage Advancement
  • Scout led - Adult supervised
  • Patrol Based
  • Scout and family cooperative effort and involvement for a planned and enjoyable program

Kings Mountain Art Fair (Labor Day Wknd): Service Hours

Work at the "Cookshack" during the Labor Day weekend to earn Citizenship in the Community service hours (or service hours in general) at the Kings Mountain Art Fair on Skyline Boulevard in Woodside.  Details and sign-up on the 8/31 calendar entry.

Merit Badge Counselor Training Night (10/8)

Parents and Adults: Our Scouts rely on us to be counselors for key Eagle required Merit Badges.  To get you started, a special Merit Badge Counselor training session will be conducted for parents and adults during the Troop meeting on October 8.  Please sign-up on the calendar event and review the list of high priority Merit Badges.
